Bunk Beds

A bunk bed is a type of bed in which one bed frame is stacked on top of another. No box spring is required as the mattress lies on a flat surface or slats.
Bunk beds are normally supported by four poles or pillars, one at each corner of the bed. A ladder is used to get to the upper bed, which is normally surrounded by a railing to prevent the sleeper from falling out.
Because of the need for a ladder and the height of the bed, the top bunk of a bunk bed is not recommended for children under six years of age.
Good quality foam mattress is best suited for bunk beds around the 125 mm to 150 mm thickness, and in fact, research has proved that a correct quality and density foam mattress significantly decreases low back pain and increases sleep quality to a traditional innerspring mattress. This fact is the reason why we only sell SABS approved foam mattress.
Bunk bed mattress sizes are normally 910 wide x 1880 mm long.

Can also have an under bed on wheels, that fits under the bunk, as well as under bed storage boxes on wheels or even under bed chest on wheels.
We use a more expensive metal bracket system to join our bunks together rather than the traditional hole through the wood post with furniture screw and cup ring.
Our bracket system is sturdier and also does not damage bed when is disassembled and reassembled.
Bunk beds are space saving and also a very novel type of furniture, and most kids enjoy a period of sleeping in bunk beds.
We have customers buying a bunk bed for their spare room, as they never slept on one in their childhood!
